![]() Carnival fun this week at Wonderful Wednesday!College Council is sponsoring the next Wonderful Wednesday on September 10 out in Asbury Circle. This carnival-themed event will include a moon bounce and free food including cotton candy, popcorn, and pizza. Take a break from class between 11:30 AM and 2 PM to meet the Council, share some concerns, and have a good time! Want to get involved in College Council?The last mandatory information sessions for freshmen interested in running for College Council or SGA and for all Oxford continuees interested in running for College Council is tonight, Monday, September 8 at 7 pm in White Hall 110. Everyone interested in running must attend if you didn't attend the Sunday night session! Contact Elections Board Chair Walt Ecton with any questions.This Saturday: Experience Downtown Atlanta!The Emory Experience Shuttles were a big hit in their school year debut, with hundreds of students going to Atlantic Station and the Braves game. This Saturday, they are visiting downtown Atlanta to give Emory students a chance to check out some of Atlanta's best sites including the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coke, CNN Center, and Centennial Olympic Park! Shuttles are free and will leave from behind the DUC on Means Drive every thirty minutes on the hour and half hour between 1 PM and 5:30 PM. Shuttles return to Emory on the half hour and the last one gets back at 6 PM. Remember you can take the Dooley Direct shuttles every Friday and Saturday night! These shuttles have stops at Clai rmont, Turman, Woodruff Residential Center, and Eagle Row about every 20 minutes 11 pm - 3 am on weekends. Feel like it created a sense of community at Emory? What started out as a temporary exhibit for the Recycled Art Project is back! After hearing complaints from students when the tire swing came down, College Council worked on getting it put back up. The tire swing was installed for Orientation and will hopefully be installed during special events throughout the semester including Wonderful Wednesdays. Newspapers are available in the DUC, Cox Hall, Sorority Village, White Hall, and the Clairmont Shuttle Stop. This year we have newspaper boxes that require you to swipe your EmoryCard to get the papers. Your card will not be charged, this just makes sure students are getting the newspapers. Don't feel like walking all the way over to Cox? Well you're in luck because there is now a coffee machine on the first floor of the Woodruff Library! With five specialty choices and an Emory swipe card machine, this will prove to be an easy solution to your late night cravings! Maybe you need help editing your resume or finding an internship. Or maybe you want to make sure you're on track for med school or law school, or in a position to be able to study abroad next year. Or maybe you still haven't gone to the Writing Center or don't know what the Center for Women is. Lucky for you, College Council wants to help! Join us for a special Sophomore Reorientation next Tuesday, September 16, in the Coke Commons from 11 am - 2 pm! Representatives from Academic Advising, the Career Center, CIPA, the Emory Alumni Association, the Sophomore Class Gift Committee, the Sophomore Pinning Ceremony Planning Committee, the Second Year at Emory Program, the Center for Student Leadership and Engagement, the Writing Center, the Center for Women, EPASS, and undergraduate research will all be available to pass out information relevant to you and answer questions. College Council will be there with Reorientation Guides and lots of free food, including Chipotle, Smoothie King, and Bruster's! Also, make sure to be there at 1:30 - President Wagner will be there to share a few remarks, right after Chipotle arrives!
