Give Blood and Give the Gift of Life! College Council will be hosting the American Red Cross in the Woodruff P.E. Center on Wednesday January 30, 2008 for the largest blood drive in Emory history! Come donate blood between 11:00AM and 4:00PM, and help save a life. Everyone who donates gets a t-shirt and goodies, is entered into a raffle for a prize, and gets the opportunity to give back in a great way! Want to donate but don't have the time to wait? Ralph Nader to Visit Emory This February College Council is bringing distinguished author, environmental activist, and former Presidential candidate Ralph Nader to Emory. The event is free to all Emory students and will take place on Tuesday, February 19 at 7:00PM in Glenn Memorial with a book signing immediately following. Emory Experience Shuttles Back Ride the Emory Experience shuttle to Atlantic Station this Saturday, January 26, and visit an array of shops and restaurants or see a movie! Shuttles leave from behind the DUC every half hour starting at 6:15PM. The last shuttle leaves Atlantic Station at 11:15PM and will return to campus by 11:45PM. The shuttles will be running every weekend this semester to different spots around Atlanta. Another Reason to Go Green Senior Legislator Rajiv Bahl and the parking office have worked together to bring reserved hybrid parking spots to Emory's parking decks. There are currently four spots located in the Peavine Deck one floor above the deck's entrance next to the Security Office. In the next month, reserved hybrid parking will be extended to the Clairmont Deck. This is part of an ongoing effort to provide incentives for Emory drivers to choose alternative fuel vehicles. College Council-Chipotle Chat Geared to Improve FAME Love burritos? Want to help freshmen have a smooth transition to Emory? We do too!!! On Tuesday January 29 from 5-6PM, College Council will be handing out free Chipotle burritos for the first 50 students in the DUC Coke Commons. The catch? Just give us 15 minutes of your time, and tell us about your experience with FAME and what aspects of the program you feel need improvement. Come hungry. The Dooley Direct Shuttles: On-Campus Weekend Night Shuttles for One Month Trial For the next three weekends, College Council will run on-campus shuttles on Friday and Saturday nights from 11 pm until 3AM to assess student transportation needs. Stops include Clairmont, Turman, Woodruff Residential Center, Dooley's Depot, and Eagle Row approximately every 20 minutes.
